✨ How to Enhance Student Feedback using AI

At Marking.ai, we know how important it is to deliver high-quality, personalised feedback to your students. That’s why we’ve introduced a powerful new feature that allows you to enhance the AI-generated feedback for any student submission — all in just a few clicks!

Whether you want the feedback to be more encouraging, more detailed, or tailored to a specific skill or curriculum standard, this tool puts you in control.

🔍 Where to Find the Feature

1. Navigate to a specific student’s submission from the marking dashboard.
2. On the Mark Details page, scroll down to the feedback section.
3. Click the “Enhance Feedback” button located next to the existing feedback block.

💬 Describing How You’d Like to Enhance the Feedback

After clicking the Enhance Feedback button, a pop-up modal will appear asking you to explain how you’d like the feedback to be enhanced.

This is your chance to tell the AI what you need! The more specific and clear you are, the better the enhancement will be.

✅ Examples of Good Enhancement Requests

• Make the feedback more encouraging.
• Add a suggestion for how the student can improve their structure.
• Explain the grammar error in more detail.
• Include a curriculum link to VCE English standard 3.1.2.
• Reword this to sound more age-appropriate for a Year 8 student.
• Highlight both what the student did well and what they could improve.

🚀 Enhancing the Feedback

Once you’ve entered your enhancement request:

1. Click the “Enhance Feedback” button at the bottom of the modal.
2. You’ll see a loading spinner appear in the feedback block — this means your enhancement request is being processed.

✅ Using the Enhanced Feedback

Once the enhancement is complete, the feedback block will update with the newly generated version. It’s ready to use as-is or with further edits if needed.

You can now:

• Copy the enhanced feedback
• Share it directly with the student
• Use it as a base for further customisation

• Be specific: Vague requests like “make it better” are less effective than clear instructions.
• Tailor by tone or level: Ask the AI to adjust tone, detail, or academic level.
• Link to learning outcomes: You can reference curriculum points or success criteria.

If you’re on a paid plan, you can now save even more time with Bulk Mode. This powerful new feature allows you to enhance AI-generated feedback for all students who answered the same question — in just one click.

Simply tick the ‘Bulk mode’ checkbox before enhancing feedback, and Marking.ai will instantly apply tailored improvements to every student’s response to that question. It’s the fastest way to ensure high-quality, consistent feedback across your entire class.
