Managing your subscription (the customer portal)
For deeper changes to your subscription — updating your card, changing the billing address, cancelling, or downloading past invoices — Marking.ai routes you to the customer portal.
This article shows you how to get there and what’s available.
How to open the portal
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Click Manage billing at the bottom of your plan card.
The button opens a secure portal page hosted by our payment provider. You’re already authenticated, so there’s no extra login required.
What you can do in the portal
The customer portal handles things that need direct payment-provider control:
- Update your payment method — add a new card, remove old ones
- Change billing details — name, address, VAT/tax IDs
- Cancel your subscription
- Download past invoices — PDF receipts for any payment
- View your payment history
For anything else — pausing, upgrading, downgrading, buying top-ups — use the Marking.ai Settings page itself.
Cancelling vs. pausing
If you cancel from the portal, your subscription ends at the end of the current billing cycle. Your data stays, but new marking jobs are blocked until you re-subscribe.
If you’re not sure whether you’ll be back, pausing is often a better choice. See Pausing your subscription.
Returning to Marking.ai
When you’re done in the portal, close the tab and head back to Marking.ai. Any changes you made (a new card, a cancellation) sync back automatically.

FAQs
Why isn’t there a Cancel button in Marking.ai itself?
Cancellation goes through the customer portal so the payment provider keeps a clean audit trail — it’s a payment-provider action, not just a UI toggle. Your access stays consistent.
Can I change my email in the portal?
The portal handles your billing email. Your Marking.ai sign-in email is separate — reach out at connect@marking.ai if you need to change that.
What if the portal looks different from Marking.ai?
That’s expected — the portal is a separate page hosted by our payment provider. It’s branded a little differently but is fully integrated.
