Setting your default share preferences

If you share results often, setting sensible defaults saves you a click on every share link. The defaults live in Settings → Customisation and apply to every new share you create. This article shows you what’s adjustable.

Getting there

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Open the Customisation tab.
  4. Scroll to the What’s visible and Expiry sections.

Default expiry

Under Expiry, set how long new share links last by default — e.g. 30 days, 90 days, 1 year. The default applies to share links you create from now on; existing links keep their original expiry.

You can override per link when you create one.

What’s visible

Under What’s visible, toggle which sections appear on the student-facing results page by default:

  • Feedback — your per-question feedback
  • Breakdown — marks per question
  • Marking guide — the mark scheme alongside each question

Set the defaults to match how you usually share, and override the few times you’d do something different.

A separate Default link expiry under student upload settings controls how long student upload links stay open by default. You’d want this longer for a coursework window, shorter for a quick deadline.

Why bother?

Without defaults you’d reach for the expiry dropdown and toggle the visibility settings on every share. Setting them once saves you that friction across every future share.

FAQs

Do these defaults apply retroactively?

No — they affect new share links only. Existing links keep their original settings.

Can I have different defaults per class or assessment?

Not today — defaults are account-wide. You can override per link.

Will students see different things if I change my defaults later?

For newly-created links, yes. Existing links don’t change.
