Inviting teachers to your workspace

If you’re an owner or admin of a school workspace, you can invite teachers to join — either new colleagues or existing Marking.ai users you want to add to the pool.

This article walks you through it.

Opening the invite dialog

  1. Open Settings → Workspace.
  2. Click the Invite teacher button at the top right.
  3. The Invite a teacher dialog opens.

What to fill in

  • Teacher email — the email address you want to invite. Must be a valid email; ideally your colleague’s school email.
  • Role — what level of access they’ll have. Most teachers should be Teacher (Member). See Member roles for the full breakdown.

Click Send invite to dispatch it.

What the teacher sees

The teacher receives an email from Marking.ai with an Accept invite link.

  • If they don’t have a Marking.ai account yet, the link takes them to sign up. Their account is automatically joined to your workspace once verified.
  • If they already have an account, the link asks them to confirm and joins them to the workspace.

For the invitee perspective, see Accepting a workspace invite.

Resending or revoking an invite

From the Workspace tab, find the pending invite in the roster and use the actions menu to:

  • Resend if the original email got lost
  • Revoke if you sent it to the wrong person or want to cancel

Bulk inviting

Not a built-in flow today — invite one teacher at a time via the dialog. If you’ve got 20 teachers to add, drop us a line at connect@marking.ai and we’ll help speed it up.

FAQs

Can a teacher already in a different workspace accept my invite?

Yes — a Marking.ai account can belong to multiple workspaces. They’ll see your workspace alongside their existing memberships.

What happens if they don’t accept the invite?

The invite stays open. You can resend or revoke from your roster. If they ignore it, they don’t take up a seat.

Can I limit which assessments a teacher can see?

Not today — each teacher’s data stays private to their own account. The workspace shares billing and admin tools, but not student records or marks.
