Notification preferences
Marking.ai sends emails for a few things — your marking jobs, your subscription, product updates, and a weekly digest. You can pick which categories to receive from the Notifications tab.
Getting there
Click your avatar in the top-right corner, choose Settings, then open the Notifications tab.
The four categories
Marking and exports
Emails about your marking jobs and exports — “marking complete”, “export ready to download”, “submission failed”. Worth keeping on for most users.
Subscription and billing
Receipts, payment issues, upcoming renewal reminders, plan changes. Strongly recommended to keep on — missing one of these can cause unexpected interruptions.
Product updates
Marketing-y emails about new features, tips, and improvements to Marking.ai. Optional — turn off if you’d rather not hear from us between releases.
Weekly digest
A Sunday-night summary of what’s happened in your Marking.ai workspace this week — submissions marked, assessments active, time saved. Optional, useful if you like a routine recap.
Toggling categories
Flip the switch on or off for any category. Changes save instantly — no Save button to click. You can flick them on and off as often as you like.
What about transactional emails?
Some emails are transactional — things like email verification, password resets, and security alerts — and they’re always sent regardless of your preferences. You can’t (and shouldn’t) turn those off.
Unsubscribing from outside the app
Every non-transactional email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it toggles off the relevant category here — same as flicking the switch in Settings.

FAQs
Will I miss important news if I turn off product updates?
The biggest changes get announced in the app too — in dashboard tips or onboarding banners — so you won’t miss anything critical. Product updates are the nice-to-have channel.
Can I get notifications in the app itself rather than over email?
The Activity screen and home page dashboard already do this for you in-app. The email notifications are for when you’re away from Marking.ai.
Can I get notifications by Slack/SMS/something else?
