Accepting a workspace invite
If your school is using Marking.ai and an admin has invited you to join their workspace, here’s what to do.
The invite email
You’ll receive an email from Marking.ai inviting you to a workspace. It includes:
- The school or workspace name
- The role you’re being added with (Teacher, Admin, etc.)
- An Accept invite button
If you don’t see the email, check your spam folder. If it’s been deleted, ask your admin to resend.
Accepting
Click Accept invite in the email. You’ll land on Marking.ai.
If you don’t have a Marking.ai account yet
The link takes you to sign up. Create your account (with the email the invite was sent to), verify it, and you’ll be added to the workspace automatically.
If you already have a Marking.ai account
The link prompts you to sign in and confirm. Once you do, you’re added to the workspace.
What changes after you accept
A few things shift:
- You draw from the school’s pooled allowance instead of your personal monthly allowance
- You inherit the school’s branding on shared outputs — logo, primary colour
- Your role determines what you can do — most teachers join as Teacher (Member) and have full access to mark, share, and view their own data. See Member roles.
Your existing assessments, students, and marks all come with you — nothing gets reset.
What stays private
Joining a workspace doesn’t make your data visible to other teachers (or even admins). Each teacher’s assessments, students, marks, and feedback stay private to their own account.
The workspace only shares billing, admin tools, and branding.
Leaving a workspace
If you need to leave a workspace (e.g. you’ve moved schools), ask your admin to remove you. Your data stays with you — it doesn’t get deleted when you leave.

FAQs
What if I’m invited to a workspace using a different email than my current account?
You can either accept on the new email (which creates a separate account) or ask the admin to invite your existing email instead.
Will my trial submissions carry over?
When you join a workspace, you start using the school’s pool — trial submissions on your personal account aren’t relevant inside the workspace.
Will the workspace admin see my marks?
No — admins see workspace-level usage and the member roster. They don’t see your assessments, your students, or any feedback you’ve written.
