Settings overview
Your Settings area is where you tune Marking.ai to the way you teach — from your profile to feedback structure to billing. This article gives you a quick tour of each tab.
Getting to Settings
Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the app and choose Settings. You’ll land on the Profile tab by default.
Across the top of the Settings area, you’ll see tabs for each section:
Profile
Your personal info — name, role, country, school, curriculum, subjects, and a free-form description. Update it any time. See Your profile.
Notifications
Four category toggles that control which email notifications you receive: marking and exports, subscription and billing, product updates, and weekly digest. See Notification preferences.
Billing
Your plan, your submission balance, top-ups, pausing, cancelling, and invoices. Everything money-related lives here. See Choosing the right plan for the bigger picture.
Customisation
How Marking.ai writes feedback, the language dialect it uses, your default share settings, and your preferred currency. The single biggest place to put your fingerprint on the product. See Customisation: feedback structure, language, share defaults, currency.
Branding
Upload your school logo and pick a brand colour. Used on the student-facing results page and PDF exports. See Branding settings.
Marko’s memory
View and edit what Marko has learned about how you like to teach — marking strictness, feedback tone, and core memory notes. See Editing or clearing Marko’s memory.
Workspace (school admins only)
If you’re an owner or admin of a school workspace, you’ll also see a Workspace tab — your pooled usage, member roster, invites, and roles. See The workspace admin dashboard. Most teachers won’t have this tab.
A note on saving
Most settings save when you click a Save button on the page. Some toggles save instantly. Either way, you’ll see a small confirmation when a change has been saved.

FAQs
Where do I change my password?
From the sign-in page, click Forgot password to send yourself a reset link. There isn’t a separate password field inside Settings yet.
Can I delete my account from Settings?
Not directly today. Drop us a line at connect@marking.ai and we’ll take care of it. See Deleting your data or your account.
Why doesn’t the Workspace tab show for me?
It only appears for school workspace owners and admins. If your account isn’t in a school workspace (or you’re a member, not an admin), you won’t see the tab — that’s expected.
